Spring is a time of life and freshness. Colourful flowers are emerging from the ground and, in the fields, spring lambs are born. New beginnings and a freshness is all around. There are shorter nights and fuller days ahead (for those of us in the northern hemisphere!).
And the Holy Spirit wants you to enjoy a new freshness deep within you, by getting rid of clutter and disarray.
Spring clean your heart by getting rid of the clutter that is in there – the words, thoughts, dalliances and memories that run over and over and that belong to a time that is now past. These things may not necessary have been wrong or sinful, but yet, those chapters in your life have finished. Although these things that you’ve stored up in your heart do not seem to be doing any harm, you may have a tie with them that is stopping you moving onto the next page and next chapter in your life.
Ask God to show you what it is time to let go of, and do some spring cleaning.
Hebrews 10:21-23
And since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
