God spoke to my heart today and said, ‘It’s time to break open the precious ointment for anointing.’ For many of you there is an anointing on your life which God poured out upon you during a season of walking through some very ‘costly’ lessons and experiences of life. He sees that you possess wells of wisdom in your spirit but you have said that you would keep these things stored up in your heart, just between you and God.
It is the oil of your testimony and your compassion that God is releasing in this hour, to touch the lives of the ones He weeps for. Do not withhold what you have to give because of the fear of disapproval from others but instead pour your life out for the hurting and fill God’s house with the fragrant aroma of lives rescued and changed by His love, demonstrated through you.
And an ungodly thought has crept in which would whisper to you that you are not qualified to serve God because of your past… but God wants you to know that He has chosen and anointed you to be an ambassador of His to the lost, the broken – those in need of a Saviour.
The Father’s heart is weeping over the wounded, the hurting, the addicted and those on the fringe of society. Do you feel it too? Allow it to motivate you to not walk past on the opposite side of the road, as the religious did in Jesus’ parable, but instead go and break open the precious oil of anointing which you carry, and release a fragrant aroma, of sweet life… the saving, healing, delivering grace of Jesus Christ.
As you do this as an act of love to others, know that He sees this as if you are also anointing His very own feet with precious oil.
John 12:3
Then Mary took a pound of Spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
