Keep your resolve – your Lion Bites word for today

1 Thessalonians 5:5-6
for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

It is much easier for those without hope to partner with despair. But you are one who has hope, so do not allow your heart to become troubled or despairing. Even though there are things that you resolved to be and to do and you have ‘dropped the ball’ so early in the game, you do not have to fall into the trap of failure and despair.

No! Remember the hope that you have! Hear Jesus, who understands the things that you wrestle with, call out His encouragement to you. You will hear no condemnation from His lips, only words to comfort and to strengthen you. So pick up your resolve once again. It is far too early in the year to start a ‘pity party’. Remember who you are, and who your Father is.

Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
