I heard the Lord say, ‘You thought this season of the wilderness was a work of the enemy to stop you, dry you out and cause you to weary yourself but see that I actually call the wilderness season a time of intimacy. For in the wilderness season there is no distraction or worldly “goodness” that you can sustain yourself on. The wilderness teaches you to fully rely on me and learn to put all your trust in me. Growing out from the ‘wilderness’ will cause you to be fruitful and from this ‘dry season’ you will come out having developed a deep rooted relationship with me.
So, do not despise the dry seasons you find yourself in but instead recognise that they are the optimum conditions for you to come and strengthen yourself in me. Do not despise this season and look elsewhere for hope, but run to, and find me, and I will encounter you in ways you have yet to experience.
In the wilderness there is also an open plain provided for you to begin to build something new and exciting with me. There is space for you to build and develop what has remained within you for many years but have been unable to find a place for it to manifest. As you journey out the other end of the wilderness you will understand and see that it is one of the most fruitful seasons you have journeyed through. What was empty is now full and what was dry is now bubbling with life.
So embrace the dry season that it is actually an invitation into new depths in me.’
Hosea 2:14
Therefore, behold, I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably to her. I will give her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Eqypt.
