The Lord is ‘wooing’ you into the secret place in this day. He is calling you into that intimate, one-on-one time with Him, so that He can love you and renew you, but also so that He can train and equip you.
He says, ‘You have faced trials that you have felt unprepared for and many have entered battles prematurely and unequipped. I remind you that I train in the secret place to prepare you for the public place. All that I do with you when no-one is looking is what makes you fruitful when all are looking. And I am calling you into a time of secret preparation where I train your hands for battle and ensure that you are ‘well equipped’ for all that you will face.
Remember David: I trained him as he was tending to his sheep. He killed a lion and a bear when no-one was looking and this enabled him to kill Goliath when tens of thousands were looking. This is what I desire to do with you. Come away with me into training camp and I will ensure that you are fully prepared for all that I will do through you.’
Psalm 18:35
He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
1 Samuel 17:34-36
But David said to Saul, “Your servant was tending his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a lamb from the flock, I went out after him and attacked him, and rescued it from his mouth; and when he rose up against me, I seized him by his beard and struck him and killed him. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has taunted the armies of the living God.”
